CORE’s team INTERVIEW: Nacho Amadoz

„.САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН must be the anchor for every step forward in the day-to-day use of the Cyrillic script on the Internet“, said Mr. Nacho Amadoz in this interview special for our audience.

A Catalan, a lawyer, a philosopher, a father and a lot more… passionate about the domains world he works in Barcelona a lot of years for one of the firts ever domains .CAT and in the same time he is helping to the project for the Cyrillic domains .САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН. But what is the most important thing in life for him? See bellow:

.САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН domains: Hi Nacho, what is your passion in life? Please, tell us more about yourself.

Nacho Amadoz: I have an education background in law and philosophy, although I only finished my law degree in. Someday I will finish the last course left to get the philosophy degree Not surprisingly, ethics and philosophy of law were my main research interests, which I pursued while working for the Bar Association in the Legal Aid Department. I started working with .cat while studying a Master in IP/IT law 8 years ago, and that definitely got me into the DNS world.

.САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН domains: How do you manage to be a father, university teacher, lawyer, working in the same time for .cat and CORE? Describe one of you working days.

Nacho Amadoz: Somehow I manage. It is difficult to describe a regular working day, but it usually starts before 7 catching up with email an trying to set a schedule for the upcoming things in the day. I take a break then to bring Eneko (my 1 year old kid) to either of the grandparents’, and then go to CORE or to puntCAT’s office. Most of the days I come back home for lunch, and, depending on the jobs to do, I either stay at home or come back to the office. Only Eneko knows when the day will be over

.САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН domains: What brought you to CORE?

Nacho Amadoz: The moment I started working with .cat I got really interested in understanding what was CORE and what it meant to the world of DNS. The ideas and projects that CORE represents are very dear to me, and I’m glad I can be part of this team, and help all the projects we are working with.

.САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН domains: You have an experience working in the domain names’ field. So, what do you think about the new project for the Cyrillic Domains “.САЙТ” and “.ОНЛАЙН”? What do you think are their Advantages?

Nacho Amadoz: I think these projects’ main objective must be to grow along the Cyrillic Internet. They must be the anchor for every step forward in the day-to-day use of the Cyrillic script on the Internet, and must enhance and foster the creation of those projects based on their area of influence. In this regard, I think their evolution should follow some of the lines we’ve seen with .cat, that has become the TLD of reference on its area of influence. .cat has steadily developed a very strong user base, and has created a public conscience of the power a TLD has an identity label on the Internet.

.САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН domains: When the working day ends what do you do usually?

Nacho Amadoz: Nowadays I only do want to spend time with our child. It’s an extremely rewarding experience and we want to enjoy this moment in life as much as we can. It is also so demanding that all our energy is drained at the end of the day.

.САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН domains: What do you wish to yourself, CORE and the Cyrillic Domains .САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН?

Nacho Amadoz: We are running projects that are very meaningful and that bring real value to the Internet. I really wish that all the effort and time we are committing to these domain names ends up helping.
