.САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН GA Press Release
Sofia / Geneva / Barcelona, April 2, 2014. Today at 13:00 UTC is the start of the General Availability (GA) phase for the two Cyrillic-script TLDs .САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН. At this point anyone can register domain names in Cyrillic script ending in .САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН. Registered domain names go live within minutes.
The two TLD strings have the same pronunciation and meaning as the English words “site and “online”, respectively. Their purpose is to serve Internet users in countries where the Cyrillic script is used, including the fast-growing markets in Eastern Europe and Asia. Examples of domains ending in .САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН: зустріч.сайт, поэзия.онлайн, фильмы.онлайн
