The word “сайт” means “site” in the sense of “web site”.

Sunrise Period is designed for:
Trademark and other distinctive signs rights holders. This includes a first subcategory for trademarks registered in Cyrillic scripts, and figurative trademarks whose textual part is expressed in Cyrillic script, and a second subcategory for other distinctive rights, such as Designations of Origin.
Sunrise is a special period that provides current brand and trademark owners the opportunity to secure their trademark name under the new top level domain. Registration fee during this period is usually higher as trademarks will need to be verified and cleared. Trademark holders can opt to register their trademark with Trademark Clearinghouse (), or provide trademark data to their Registrar at the moment of ordering a domain name.
Landrush – registration period for entities and individuals without prior rights to the name they wish to register. It is intended for highly sought-after generic names and are usually priced higher than in the general availability.
General Availability – This phase is open to the general public and is a first-come, first served launch. .САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН domains are registered in real time.

Registry will withhold .САЙТ  and .ОНЛАЙН domain names from open registrations that are considered  premium domains, i.e. highly desired or unique names. .САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН domains with this premium status will eventually be auctioned to the highest bidder.
